Do You Believe in Love at First Sight?
Do you believe in love at first sight?
If it is real, the woman I would fall for
Would be beautiful,
An angel,
With burning moonlit chocolate eyes
And the grace of a heaven-sent dove.
And the flame within her would burn fiercely,
Scorching me,
Causing a passionate longing
Edged in a fine, copper gilding of fear
To blossom deep within my soul.
Her delicate beauty, lit from within,
Would be so fragile, like a glass firefly,
I would fear my love would crush it...
Yet those flames behind her eyes, illuminating her tresses,
Could burn me up,
And I would willingly fall into that dangerous pyre
And be consumed.
The woman I love would have an electric touch,
Enslaving me with a caress,
A glance,
A breath,
And I would be overwhelmed
And given new life
By her sweet, mad, love,
If only she believed in love at first sight, too.
If she returned my love,
I'd not have to content myself
With torturing dreams of her beauty,
And maybe,
Just maybe,
I'd be able to taste those honeyed lips
In a kiss as passionate
As that light behind her eyes.
If I believed in love at first sight,
That would be the woman who would ensnare me,
That would be the woman I would love beyond all,
And her name would be Josie.
