In the Morning

In the morning

I love the Lord,

And sing aloud for joy

At the works of His hands,

At the thoughts of His heart,

And I cannot help but to

Make music, and dance, and worship

In praise of my God,

Who loves me

And has saved me.

The sun shouts of His glory,

But the night whispers of His depth,

And the dark, lapping waves of night

Are twice as beautiful and mysterious

As the noonday glories.

But the rising of the sun!

Hallelujah for the coming

Of purifying fire and light

Out of the dark depths of the Lord's mind!

Hallelujah Amen!

The glory and might of the Lord,

The rising of the Son from the darkness of death

Is re-enacted each day,

That we might remember.

Praise the Lord for His wisdom,

For His wondrous creation

Works together to glorify daily

The resurrection that is,

And to point to the resurrection to come.
