             witches.

Her first pain was
    healed by a planet
Her first love was
       approved by
A universe of Devas and a djinn.
    And when she was grown,
         they
            all
 made themselves
      known
        to her
      and honored
         her
  and bade her make
       a wish
     any wish
so that they might please
her by granting it.

She took
    a breath,
      thought,
          a moment
             only,
        and spoke.

She wished
     to be
    alone.
